A 512 × 512 image is useful for square thumbnails, application artwork and icon source files. Small graphics need a clear silhouette and enough space around the subject. Start from a larger original when possible; this resizer sets pixels but does not redraw a blurry logo or produce vector artwork.

Resize and download in three steps

  1. Add your images

Choose one or more supported photos, or drop files onto the page.

  2. Check dimensions and framing

Use the preset, compare the preview and choose fit, format and quality.

  3. Resize and save

Process the selected files, check their actual output dimensions and download them individually or in a ZIP.

A square PNG is not a complete favicon package

PNG preserves transparent space around an icon, while JPG replaces it with white. Check the design at its actual small display size: fine text and narrow strokes may disappear. Use the favicon generator for multiple website icon sizes and filenames, or Image to ICO when you specifically need an ICO file.

Choose the crop before resizing

Crop to fill creates the requested outer frame with a centered crop. Fit inside keeps the whole image and adds padding; Stretch changes proportions. Check the preview and compare Original before processing. The aspect-ratio lock preserves each source's proportions when you edit one dimension. Leave it off when both output dimensions must stay exact. Use Crop Image to position a subject manually.

Formats, quality and batch downloads

Open JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC/HEIF files. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP for output, or keep the source format where supported; HEIC defaults to JPG. JPG and WebP offer a quality slider, while PNG is lossless. Transparent padding is white in JPG. Settings apply to all files, but selection controls which files are processed. Download individual results or a ZIP. Files are processed in your browser without an account.

A practical resizing workflow

  • Icons and thumbnails

Create a 512×512 source image and check whether its shape is still recognizable when displayed smaller.

  • Check the framing

Compare the original and preview. Choose cropping or padding before processing the selected files.

  • Download a batch

Use the same settings across your selection and save finished files individually or together in a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download a transparent 512×512 icon?
Yes, choose PNG or WebP when your source already has transparency or when using padding. Resizing does not remove the background.
Can I resize without cropping?
Yes. Choose Fit inside to keep the whole photo. It adds padding when the source and target aspect ratios differ.
Will resizing meet a limit in KB?
Not necessarily. Pixels describe dimensions, while KB measures file size. Use the compressor afterward and recheck dimensions if it scales the image down.
Can I process several photos together?
Yes. Add multiple files, select the ones you need and process them together. Each row has its own status and download, with ZIP available for the completed selection.
Does enlarging an image restore detail?
No. Resizing can create a larger file in pixels but cannot reconstruct detail missing from the original.
