Why in the browser

Most online converters ask you to upload a file, wait in a queue, and trust that the copy on their server is deleted afterwards. That model is slow, it has a file size limit, and it asks for trust it cannot demonstrate.

Browsers no longer need it. The Canvas API can decode, resize and re-encode images on the device, and an image-segmentation model small enough to run locally can separate a subject from its background. So the work happens where the file already is. Nothing is uploaded, there is no queue, and the size limit is your own device's memory.

How it is paid for

The site will carry advertising. It carries none today. Nothing is sold, no data is sold, and there is no paid tier that unlocks a feature or removes a watermark — there are no watermarks to remove. What the privacy policy describes is the whole arrangement.

Languages

The site is published in English, Spanish, French and Swedish, with translated addresses rather than one set of English URLs behind a language switch. Each language is written for its own readers, not machine-translated from the English.
