Who runs QuickImageFix

QuickImageFix is built and run by Abdul Basit, an independent full-stack web developer based in Pakistan and a co-founder of Onyxstack. He builds the tools, writes the guides and maintains the site on his own.

Why it exists

Most online converters ask you to upload a file, wait in a queue and trust that the copy on their server is deleted afterwards. QuickImageFix exists to do everyday image and PDF jobs without that: free, simple tools that work in your browser, with no account, no paid tier and no watermark. There are no ads on the site at the moment.

How the tools work

Every tool runs in your browser. When you compress, convert, resize or crop an image, or create or edit a PDF, your browser reads the file and does the work on your device. Your files are not uploaded to a server, and the result is created on your device for you to download.

  • Background removal and face pixelation run a small AI model on your device. The first time you use one of them, your browser downloads the model and the engine that runs it from this site, up to about 17 MB, and keeps them so later visits start faster.
  • Text recognition (OCR) downloads its engine and the data for the language you choose, also from this site, and keeps the language data in your browser.
  • Speed and size limits depend on your device. Large images, long GIFs and big PDFs need memory, so a file that works on a laptop can fail on an older phone.
  • The privacy policy lists what is stored in your browser and which analytics the site uses.

How the tools are built and tested

The site is built with Next.js, React and TypeScript. The tools are tried with real files in JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF and PDF format, and the project has automated checks:

  • Unit tests for the processing code, such as GIF frames, colour removal, pixelation and image inspection.
  • A browser smoke test that opens tool pages, adds sample files, downloads the result and checks its format and pixel size.
  • Checks in every language for missing copy, broken links and structured data that does not match the page.
  • Statements on tool pages, such as button names, default settings, limits and supported formats, are checked against the tool’s code.

How content is written and updated

The guides are written and reviewed by Abdul Basit. Each guide shows when it was published and when it was last updated, and this page and the policy pages show their last update too.

Languages

QuickImageFix is published in 11 languages: English, Spanish, French, Swedish, Japanese, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese (Portugal), Vietnamese and Russian. Each edition has its own translated page addresses.

The whole site is maintained by one developer, so a fix can reach one language before the others. If something reads wrong in your language, please say so.
