How to fit your full photo without cropping

Full Photo preserves the entire image in the square, including after rotation or repositioning. Use Padding or Photo size to add breathing room. Fit inside circle makes the whole rectangle small enough for the guide. This is useful for full-body portraits, couples, family groups, pets and travel photos. Check the result in WhatsApp before saving your profile change; the guide is an approximation, not an app preview.

Choose a background for your full DP

The default blurred background uses an enlarged copy of your own image. Adjust its blur, brightness, zoom and dimming independently from the sharp foreground. A solid color suits logos and business profiles; a two-color gradient offers another option. Transparent backgrounds are available with PNG, but WhatsApp may display them differently. JPG fills transparent areas with white.

You can also upload your own background image. Fill square crops it to cover the canvas; Fit whole image keeps the entire background with your chosen base color in any empty space. Adjust its zoom, position, blur, brightness and dimming independently from your photo. Undo can restore a replaced or removed background.

Full DP versus a cropped profile photo

Full Photo keeps the whole frame. Fill enlarges the photo to cover the square and can cut off edges. Custom lets you choose zoom, padding, position and rotation, including crops. Drag the photo, pinch to zoom, or use the arrow keys and position sliders. For a deliberate close-up, try Crop Image; for a separate round cutout, use Circle Crop.
